However, if you are serving a hors d’oeuvres exclusively, serving platters & vessels, chaffing dishes, plates, forks and napkins are available for rental.
We are happy to create a custom cocktail party menu. Let us advise you on quantity, selections & perhaps new items. Some items work best as pick-up food, other items stationed food, etc. Please do not hesitate to speak with the Chef!
The must know
Tips on ordering Hors d’Oeuvres & Cocktail Receptions
A “cocktail-menu” is when you serve hors d’oeuvres exclusively. There are no main dishes or side dishes. It can either be “finger food” or food served on small plates.
If it is in between meals, light fare is appropriate.
If it is at a meal time, feed your guests, don’t just tantalize them, especially if they have traveled to attend your wedding!
As a precursor to a meal, we recommend three different hors d’oeuvres selections and calculating two items/ per person, or 6 items per person total.
If it is a cocktail reception and you are serving hors d’oeuvres only, you should probably consider one or two of the small plate/duets we offer and more hors d’oeuvres items per person to properly satiate your guests. We can customize your menu based on number of guests, time and length of party, budget and whether you are serving alcohol at the event.
Cocktail Receptions are appropriate in the afternoon, between meals, at “cocktail hour”
Not necessarily. If you are having a Cocktail Reception during a mealtime or a four hour plus party, particularly if serving alcohol, you should consider serving a meal rather than just hors d’oeuvres. Our hors d’oeuvres are hand-crafted and labor intensive, often made with more expensive ingredients and are ordered by the piece. If you do wish to have a Cocktail Reception menu for an evening party, we recommend heartier selections, including our small plate/duets and serving more items per person. Please discuss your budget, timing of party and other details with our chef in order to have the perfect offering to satiate your guests!
